Trip to Banyuwangi by crossing bali strait
by ferry from Bali to enjoy climbing to Ijen
crater and including visiting Alas Purwo
National Park
Tour Itinerary:
Day 01; Bali/Denpasar - Ferry Port -
Banyuwangi
Start from Bali/Denpasar then drive to most
western tip of Bali Island to reach
Gilimanuk harbour for about 3 hours, then
just across the narrow Bali strait by ferry
for about 1 hour to reach Ketapang ferry
port in the most eastern tip of Java Island.
The trip goes through the rural landscapes
of West Bali. Lunch will be served at local
restaurant on the way. Upon arrival in
Ketapang Ferry port then We will proceed for
a short city tour in Banyuwangi, for
visiting the kampongs in the city,
traditional market and an old Chinese
temple. End of the afternoon drive up to
Hotel for stay over night and having dinner
before we can enjoy Ijen tours and rain
forest adventure in Ijen crater area.(L,D)
Day 02; Ijen Crater – Alas Purwo National
Park
Early wake-up call and having Breakfast box
from yo ur Hotel, our Ijen Discovery vehicle
will carry you to Ijen Crater. Lush
vegetations, clove and coffee plantation
precede the rainforest where humidity,
wildlife, giant ferns and big trees cover
this 2468 ha nature reserve. From the Park
Ranger post starts the 90-minutes hike to
Ijen Crater. The stunning unveils at 2383
meters altitude. The lake eerie color and
smoke wafting from bright yellow sulfur
deposits create the landscape desolate,
barren and vibrantly alive. Sulfur miners
emerge carrying up to 80 kilos of ores in
bamboo basket on their shoulders, climbing
up along the treacherous path. After
exploring Ijen Crater, We will drive down
back to Banyuwangi Town for short city tour
then directly drive to Alas Purwo National
Park for observing wildlife in this area.
Lunch will be served at local restaurant on
the way. Alas Purwo National Park is a wild
life reserve at the Blambangan Peninsula is
also known as “Alas Purwo”. Alas means
forest or jungle and Purwo is the beginning
of everything. The width of Alas Purwo is 42
hectares square which is completed by many
kind of wild animals, especially the species
of banteng (Bos javanicus), deers, wild
pigs, and peacocks. There are many caves in
the forest which are blanketed by many kinds
of plantations. We will escort you to Guest
House for stay overnight (B,L,D)
Day 03; Alas Purwo National Park - Sukamade
Turtle Beach
continue to drive to Sukamade Turtle Beach,
We will stop in Pesanggaran village to
change vehicle to be off road vehicle to
cross rivers, rain forest, beach and
traditional village before reach Sukamade
Turtle beach. It's place to protect Green
Turtles. Sukamade Beash is a wild 3
kilometers sand strip on the Indian Ocean
where 5 species of turtles come ashore to
lay their eggs. Stay at the lodge nearby and
return to the beach at night for turtle
spotting. Conditions here are very basic,
but more often than not visitors are lucky
enough to come back with an experience that
is both unique and bound to become
exceedingly rare. Stay overnight and take
dinner at the LODGE or Guest House in
Sukamade (B,L,D)
Day 04; Banyuwangi - Ferry Port - Bali Island
After breakfast in Sukamade turtle beach
area then spend the morning for exploring
the surroundings of Sukamade. This is an
area virtually void of people. Go and take a
dip in crystal clear waters of the nearby
river. Afterward,We will escort you back to
Bali Island with same route (B,L)
